East London Kilo Sale

The Vintage Kilo Sale

The Vintage Kilo Sale was back in Bethnal Green in York Hall last Sunday.
It was extremely busy this time, over 2000 people attended.

I arrived a bit late and it looked like not much was left but on the end I found few things.
See you again on 4th of May!

Vintage Spree in Poland

The best place for vintage shopping in my hometown is a place where clothes are sold by kilo.
You can find there very nice pieces for very good prices. Last time I spent £8 for four scarves, three dresses, jumper, one shirt and a top!

This Saturday is another Judy’s Vintage Kilo Sale, can’t wait, even I know is not going to be that cheap as in Poland, I’m sure I will find lots of goodies and some old school Christmas Jumper!

And look at this everyone:

Vintage Car Boot Sale

Vintage Car Boot Sale at Southbank!
Amazing atmosphere – loud Swing music and rock&roll played from the top of an open-air London Routemaster bus played by Vintage Festival Djs.
You could feel like back in time, vintage cars, clothing, vinyl records, accessories and many more. Also street food straight from vintage wagons and drinks served from mobile retro cocktail bars. Plenty of vintage dressed people, even children and dogs!
Cars were really amazing, some of them even for sale.

Thanks for a nice sunny weather London! Dream day!!

Festivals and The Vintage Kilo Sale

Judy's Stamp

Summer is round the corner and festival clothes are well needed. I went to The Vintage Kilo Sale organised by Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fairs to find some pieces.

It wasn’t as big as last time, however I arrived on the end of the second day. I thought I will not find many things, however I couldn’t resist… .

I haven’t been in Dalston for ages and I know I need to visit again, especially on a Saturday as on the way you can find some good Charity Shops or Beyond Retro with a cafe. I also saw a street fair and red arrows on the sky.

Red Arrows

I was planning to go back to Dalston after the fair, however my bags were too heavy so I went straight home.

There are so many festivals to choose from: Wireless, Lovebox, Isle of Wight, Itunes, Latitude, British Summer Time, T in the Park, Open East …  or street parties and roof parties. Can’t wait, just hopefully the sun will be shining to enjoy them.

Some clothes I found:

Another VIntage Kilo Sale will be in the York Hall at Bethnal Green.

My 50th Post and The Vintage Furniture Flea

The Vintage Furniture Flea

Wow post number 50! Thank you everyone for visiting my blog.
It’s been a great journey and I have enjoyed writing each and every post.

Yesterday it was another great vintage market from Judy’s Vintage Fair at York Hall – The Vintage Furniture Flea. There were such a lot of treasures from all range of furniture, lamps, telephones, mirrors, clocks to small house decorations like posters, glass, frames, signs, suitcases, boardgames or tins and many more. I was looking forward to getting something, however instead of furniture I bought two pair of vintage trousers – I think I am a clothes addict or maybe I just born in the wrong era.

And what is more on the fairs like that you can spot well known people
– this time Florence Welch!

Holloway Road

Today was hopefully my final day at University. Great feeling and still a bit surreal that its over.

After handing my work I needed to relax and had a nice coffee and went to visit some lovely Vintage shops on Holloway Road.
I have to say that over last few years the street has changed a lot and more coffee shops, cafes and other places started to change the street.

Not mentioning the Arsenal Stadium, cinemas, Saturday’s Grafton School Market and the interesting and ugly architecture of some buildings.

Interesting fact is that Holloway Road Underground Station on the Piccadilly Line supposed to have the world’s first spiral escalators. Imagine that. However, the construction was abandoned, but some sections are still there.

What a nice coffee and smell of wood around. Great customer service too.

Shop without a name, but very good prices and plenty of choices.

Ooh-la-la! – the name of the shop described it all!

and of course something for big Vintage fans – Vivien of Holloway:
AAAAAAA – too many dresses!!! which one to choose? 1940’s, 1950’s, Day Dress, Pencil Dress … AAAAAA

Brick Lane – Vintage and Coffee Shops

brickmum

Brick Lane is famous for many reasons – curry houses, bagels, Brick Lane Market, street art, scenes of Jack the Ripper’s murders…
It is very busy street on Sundays, however it is a great street at any time of the week. I love Brick Lane because of great coffee shops, vintage shops and chic boutiques. On Brick Lane you can also find art galleries, clubs and pubs with a great mix of music and nice places to relax after work. There is always something going on!

Brick Lane got it’s name from the fact that many years ago this street was used to transport bricks from the nearby brick works (in 1550). Many refugees lived in the area: Irish, Jews and Bangladeshi’s, which build on the great history of Brick lane.

My two favourite stops are Beyond Retro

and  Blitz London

Follow the shops on Instagram to look for inspiration –

Shoreditch Vintage Fair is always a great event.
You can find different traders every time, get vintage make over from Lipstick & Curls, listen to some vintage music and have some lovely cupcake, tea or coffee at Vintage Tea Room.
Today I found also a stall from Little Vintage – very cute clothes and small gifts for children and
English Rose Cosmetics – really nice new beauty line.

Here are some pictures from today’s event:
