Street Art night walk

Another night and another walk… and I have to say walking in London at 5 am it’s amazing.

Halloween at London Canal Museum

There are always plenty of family friendly Halloween events to choose from in London. This year we went to London Canal Museum on a Halloween Boat Trip at Kings Cross. It’s a tiny museum, but definitely worth a visit.
The event happened on Sunday, which is not exactly on Halloween, but the Halloween spookines was in the air. In the museum there was face painting and some Halloween stories, but the most scary part was the boat trip through the Islington tunnel.
There were plenty of Halloween decorations such as ghosts and skeletons or bloody parts of bodies hanging from the ceiling. Our ride started great with a scary Witch wanted to eat every child on a board, however later they just let us sit at the front.
It’s a shame that no one continued with the Halloween stories as the atmosphere could be even better, but definitely I would recommend a night boat trip through this long tunnel.

 

 

Street Art Update

Another update, some of those pictures had been taken two weeks ago. I’ve got more recent ones, which I will post them soon. Sorry for not being here often enough as I would wish to, just not enough time during a day. That’s why my recent street art walks are happening at night. Finally a week off and time to catch up and have a bit of rest from the stressful weeks.

Leonard Street and the night stroll

Leonard Street changed so much during last few weeks. At the end of July this wall was painted by many great artists, unfortunately their work didn’t stay for long as seen on my recent night street art hunting pictures:

and round the corner on Great Eastern Street you can find those beautiful pieces.

 

 

Noriaki

I thought it would be great to do a separate post about Polish artist Noriaki.
I’ve discovered him few weeks ago in Poznan, Poland. Few days later I found his work in London, which was a nice surprise. His famous creature is called Watcher and it appears everywhere. Here are the ones I found so far:

A short break

Hi all. I haven’t been here for a while and it’s nearly end of holidays, just one more week left before coming back to work and finally I’m spending some time at home. It was nice to be off for six weeks and to be away for most of the time, but I’ve missed you London – the most I’ve missed my cat of course and a good coffee.

Oh, how I’ve missed a goooooood coffeee. I’ve also missed the city, people, street art and just being at home…

I’ve got lots of posts to catch up on and definitely I need to post the new street art update as since my last post there are plenty of amazing new pieces around London and not only East London.

So one more week and big time ahead of me. I’m starting teaching training from September in the Reception class, which means I’m going to have very busy schedule, but I love that, I love being busy. Hopefully I will be able to post some more posts with Early Years ideas from my classroom.

London Wall

What an amazing project organised by Street Art London and Museum of London. Thierry Noir, Run and John Dolan painted the London Wall.
John Dolan drew London landscape leaving families opportunity to add their own creations to London streets.
Kacper loved adding some Minecraft figures on the London buses and Tower Bridge. Can you spot a purple crazy girl with an Iphone on Tower of London? that’s me 🙂
It was great to see the artists placing their finishes touches on their works.

Urban Exploring

Finally I had a chance to see the abandoned building in Bromley by Bow. It’s not really really abandoned as someone squats there, however it’s definitely not safe due to plenty of rubbish, holes and every floor looks like it’s about to collapse. The street art pieces there are amazing and it will be a big sadness when the building will be destroyed completely!

 

 

Street Art Update

I had a good walk yesterday. The weather wasn’t perfect and I caught a cold in the silly rain, but it was worth it as I found lots of new street artists, plenty of dscreet and some really nice pieces such as from Jim Vision, Borondo, Thieu and many more!
